These feature a polyethylene (closed-cell type) material coupled with round-foam floatation blocks and vinyl-coated skirting. All of this together creates an effective, non-absorbent barrier that effectively contains oil, trash, and debris floating on the surface of the water.

The skirting barrier hangs below the surface of the water line to keep the types of pollutants we just mentioned from escaping underneath the boom. These barriers also feature a galvanized steel chain to weigh down the boom and make it rigid simultaneously.
